No referrals, we tried this place because the place we wanted to go was closed. Can highly recommend a visit! Everything was wonderful! Definitely going back!

Best meal on the Bourbon Trail! We are locals and dine frequently in the central Kentucky area. Our meal at Limewater was one of the best meals we’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. The atmosphere is lovely and candlelit, the service was amazing (Emily was our server), and the drinks of course have to be fabulous. We had the Limewater cocktail and the Old Fashioned. We were both impressed! Our starters were the fritters and the beet salad-superb. Our mains were the cheeseburger and the halibut and both were the best version of each. We ended with the blondie and coffee and closed our tab with plans to return soon. It’s winter now, but we also look forward to frequent meals on the patio overlooking the Kentucky river once the weather warms up. Very excited to have found this spot so close to home.

This was a great dining experience from start to finish. I made reservations for 7 on a Friday night. The atmosphere is relaxed but nice. Corn fritters were great. My pork schnitzel was very good even though I thought it needed a bit more seasoning. The winner of the night was my husband’s halibut. It was outstanding and a pleasant surprise. I don’t usually order and fish from a landlocked state but this was outstanding. We will be back. Thanks so much for a great evening

As I’m switching jobs, my coworker took me for lunch to Limewater as a farewell present, and as usual, she picked a great place! Located next to the river, offers a patio that invites to stay in a beautiful spring or summer day. Inside, decoration and style are relaxing, yet classy and simple, with a small lunch menu that doesn’t make it too difficult to make a choice. I noticed in the drinks menu that they make their own beer (this is NOT a brewery, but they have a couple homemade beers) which I’ll be happy to try next time I go there. The place is ideal for a date, a special celebration, or just to treat yourself or someone you love. My friend ordered the fried chicken with gravy that contained a subtle hint of sage; chicken was fried to perfection, crispy in the outside AND juicy in the inside, over a bed of creamy and flavorful mashed potatoes. I had the Lo Mein Stir Fry with chicken, and could not stop talking about how tasty it was!! It seems to me that it had some ginger that enhanced the flavor of this minimalist dish. I will return for sure, and I strongly suggest you to visit Limewater whenever you have the chance!

This restaurant is in a gorgeous 100 year old home just steps from the river, near Buffalo Trace distillery. We arrived early but were able to sit on the porch with drinks and appetizers until dinner service began. Our waitress was wonderful and the food was excellent. This was a random choice as we were looking for a place to eat in Frankfort and were delighted that everything exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back when visiting the area in the future.

What a wonderful lunch we had at Limewater. A beautiful historic house. Just a minute away from Buffalo Trace Distillery. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is elegant, but not stuffy. Highly recommend.

A lovely surprise pick off the map dinner for us! We were pleasantly impressed with the dinner at limewater. The drinks and food were well executed. The food was delicious and thoughtful. It is well worth having dinner here after a visit to Buffalo Trace.

I found this restaurant while searching for a spot for lunch while on the Bourbon Trail. Thanks Google. What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant. It really is a hidden gem. The restaurant is in an old 1815 home. Each room is beautifully decorated. The restaurant closes between lunch and dinner, and we were lucky enough that they allowed us in just before closing. We sat at the bar and Stephanie took great care of us. She was friendly and engaging. Of course, there were bourbon cocktails ordered. For lunch, we all ordered the BLTs. The bacon on that sandwich was insane. So good! If I’m ever on the Bourbon Trail again, I would love to come back for dinner. I think that this restaurant is romantic and special.
